The Lerato Foundation has officially confirmed the commencement of a strategic visit by its Board of Directors to Kenya, taking place from 7 to 12 May 2026. The engagement is designed to strengthen governance oversight, enhance institutional accountability, and conduct comprehensive reviews of ongoing programmes ahead of upcoming national initiatives.
This visit forms part of the foundation’s structured governance framework, ensuring alignment of strategic objectives, effective implementation of programmes, and sustained impact across education, sports development, and youth empowerment initiatives.
Throughout the visit, the Board will hold formal engagement sessions with staff members, programme coordinators, and implementation teams. These sessions will focus on operational performance review, outcomes assessment, and strengthening of administrative and delivery systems across all active projects.
A central highlight of the visit will be an official inspection of the Darajani Sports Academy under the Lerato Foundation. The Board will assess infrastructure readiness, athlete development frameworks, safeguarding systems, and overall operational preparedness ahead of the academy’s upcoming launch phase.
The delegation will be led by the Board leadership, who will oversee strategic review sessions and institutional engagement with internal teams and key stakeholders.
The Foundation emphasized that this visit underscores its commitment to transparency, excellence, and measurable impact, particularly as it scales its scholarship, talent development, and youth empowerment programmes across Kenya.
