Lerato Foundation announces with profound sorrow the passing of its Secretariat Lead, Anisha Zurich, who died on 12 April 2026 while receiving medical care in Scotland following a road traffic accident.
Despite sustained medical intervention, she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Her passing represents a significant loss to the organisation, the governance structure she supported, and the wider development community she served with commitment and distinction.
Ms. Zurich held a senior leadership role within the Secretariat, where she provided oversight in governance coordination, compliance management, and administrative operations supporting both the Board and programme delivery. She was widely respected for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to institutional excellence.
Beyond her administrative leadership, she actively contributed to mentorship and youth empowerment programmes and supported development initiatives as a sponsor, reflecting her deep commitment to expanding opportunities for young people.
She is also remembered for her professional service as a nurse, through which she demonstrated compassion, care, and an enduring commitment to human dignity.
